What’s the role about?
You’ll be working as part of a dedicated and passionate team highlighting the Nursery department and its position within the wider JLP horticulture business through driving sales, offering great customer service and delivering profit. You will also have the opportunity to develop and stretch personally and professionally to achieve your potential.
What you’ll be doing as a Nursery Specialist
Retail Nursery operation
Working with the Nursery and Landscaping teams
Sourcing and purchasing of appropriate stock for Nursery & Garden shop as required
Compliance with procedures and standards
Customer Service
Stock, inventory and waste management
Goods Inwards, merchandising and display of all stock
Customer deliveries
Maintaining nursery planting
Health and safety management of nursery car park, access roads and access paths

Leckford is a 4,000-acre estate near Stockbridge, Hampshire. The estate was purchased in 1929 by John Spedan Lewis, founder of the John Lewis Partnership, and we have been farming it now for nearly 90 years.
We are the Waitrose Farm and our produce is supplied to Waitrose stores across the country. The estate is diverse and our commercial businesses span property, food production, farming, retail and leisure activities.

What you’ll have
Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent
Proven horticultural experience
Retail and garden shop experience
Excellent Customer Service skills
To be thorough and pay attention to detail
Ability to work in a team
Ability to work well with your hands
To be able to carry out basic tasks on a computer or hand-held device
Knowledge/interest in plants & horticulture
