The opportunity
We have a permanent opportunity for a Shift Manager to join our Network Services Coordination Centre (NSCC) located at the Rail Operations Centre (ROC) in Alexandria. The NSCC provides on shore support and real time incident management within an operational dynamic environment across the NSW Trains rail and coach network.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will be responsible for the coordination of the day to day administration, service delivery and performance of up to 7 direct reports across the control room floor during each shift. In addition, you will be responsible for the overall management of the NSCC to ensure the safe, reliable and efficient control of the network.
It is important to note that this role will work 8 hour shifts. These shifts could potentially be: 6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm, 10pm - 6am as well as rostered weekend work with a similar shift pattern.

You are a proven operational people leader within a rail environment and have rock-solid organisational skills. You will be confident in your approach and not afraid to push back when necessary. With strong relationship skills you will have the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders that have competing requirements.
