The Role

We are currently looking for a Night Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Castle Vet Group in Castlewellan, Northern Ireland. This is a full-time role working 45 hours per week, 7 nights on duty and 7 nights off including weekends.

The successful candidate will be required to cover all Out of hours work at the Castlewellan and Downpatrick branches and will be in sole charge working on the farm and small animal emergencies.

We are a modern RCVS accredited Tier 2, purpose built two centre mixed practice with state-of-the-art premises based at the foothills of the beautiful Mourne Mountains and only 30 minutes from Belfast and 90 minutes to Dublin. We have been established for over 25 years providing 24-hour emergency services to our clients

Our team consists of 13 vets and 6 nurses, 3 SVN’s, 8 reception staff, 1 branch manager and 1 practice manager based across our 2 clinics, all our vets are encouraged to participate and develop in all areas of farm and domestic animal work. Our surgery facilities include all the usual: in-house labs, digital x-ray, ultrasound ECG and full orthopaedic equipment. We are also an approved Veterinary Nurse training practice.

Applicant Requirements

Looking for an experienced out of hours veterinary surgeon, confident with sole charge and ECC work manly within farm and small animal caseloads. Must be RCVS registered and have driving licence as company van will be provided. Offsite accommodation is also available.

Salary

From £48,000 negotiable D.O.E.
