Role purpose: 

Next Gen BI is a multiyear program to roll out a new Business Intelligence Solution based on Google Cloud Platform for all local markets replacing the existing BI solution. The pilot rollout will be in Portugal following multiple waves with the remaining local markets. The NGBI Cloud Solution Architect will oversee the overall architecture (supporting the lead Architect) of the program and help ensure the solution is in-line with best practices of GCP and Vodafone architecture standards. 
 This role will:

• Designing and prototyping BI & data applications and solutions with focus on Google Cloud technologies, leveraging its rich native services offering. 
• Respond to business needs for cost-efficiency and agility support
• Provide expertise and support for management of technology issues.
• Help Define and Deliver the Strategy to improve, maximise use and reduce cost of the GCP platform and applications within Vodafone
• Ensure that high quality deliverables related to the solution design are produced by the suppliers, are validated and are placed under strict configuration management control
• Form Partnerships with tool suppliers (e.g. Google) to ensure best in class design of (cutting-edge) technologies implemented at large scale
• Provide sourcing recommendations for software components and system integration work.
• Provide architectural guidance to the project team and ensure compliance to solution architectural design in the implementation of NGBI
• Review the proposal of vendors and suppliers to ensure that quality inputs are aligned with solution architecture
• Help ensure that the Systems Integrators/Local Market implementations are compliant with the global Solution Blueprint of Nucleus program.
• Support with the identification of gaps between LM requirements and the global approved Solution Blueprint and assist with their successful closure.
• Participate in decision making for topics covered by the Solution Engineering/Solution Design teams

• Responsible for analysing and translating business, information and technical requirements into an architectural blueprint for cloud BI and Analytics
• Safeguarding the overall solution and ensuring the adherence to the platforms architectural standards and principles.

You will have:

• Solution Architect (some Cloud experience preferable), with focus on BI and Analytics, with some experience in large scale integration projects (2 years min) and defining solution architecture standards and guidelines in the BI domain and applications
• Experience in designing BI Architectures including capabilities like: e2e lineage, data quality, reference and master data management
• Experience in assessment of a broad range of information solutions and products
• 2+ years experience of working in multi-project and multi-programme environment, preferably using Agile Methodologies (e.g. SAFe)
• Stakeholder management and ability to influence senior stakeholders
• CGP Certified Architect (Profess. Cloud Architect and/or Profess. Data Engineer)
• Google Cloud Platform implementation of Big Data & Machine Learning services
• Extended knowledge of the most relevant components and vendors in more than one of the following technology areas: BI, Machine Learning, GCP
• Degree in a computer science or equivalent experience in a scientific/technical discipline
