About this role
The team’s role is to develop a market leading technology and business strategy, enabling new business opportunities and ensuring the best possible experience for our customers, whilst delivering a return for our shareholders.
This role will collaborate across all LOBs and TSO to develop the aligned Technology strategic plan: develop the aligned technology roadmap over the 2-10 year time horizon, supporting the Medium Term Plan development, and any longer term planning. This includes carrying out early engagement on innovation and new technology to identify scope, benefits, and bring in to life trials and Proof of Concepts before successful initiatives become part of the strategic plan.
You'll have the following responsibilities
Input into the aligned Network strategic roadmap over the 2-10 year time horizon.
Supporting the Medium Term Plan development that will deliver a market leading Network strategy including co-ordinating the inputs across Networks and CFUs.
Carry out early engagement on innovation and new technology to identify scope, benefits, and bring in to life trials and Proof of Concepts before successful initiatives become part of the strategic plan.
Balancing network and marketing ambition with pragmatism
Balancing focus on short term priorities and longer term strategic drivers including network enablers.
You'll have the following skills & experience
Demonstrable experience of business planning and alignment, including programme and roadmap planning, and related processes.
Strong track record of analysis assignments, and experience of various tools and techniques, e.g., walkthroughs, requirements analysis, modelling, activity diagrams, process and customer experience mapping.
Good commercial and organisational awareness of business process and operations and governance within a telecoms service provider environment.
Strong stakeholder management to MD and Director level inside and outside BT, with the ability to explain and influence, building relationship across diverse teams and complex organisations and relationships.
Understanding at a high level the breadth of technology across mobile, fixed and IT technologies.
Understand the UK and Global communication and Enterprise IT market, competitive trends, and awareness of global technology and market trends, and regulatory and standardisation areas.
Numerate with the ability to comprehend, analyse and interpret data, statistics and financial; a good understanding of financial concepts and financial modelling and capability to prepare business cases.
Good communicator (written and oral), able to communicate at all knowledge levels, bringing together diverse groups, to simplify and explain using business relevant terms, verbally and in written material.
Educated to degree level or equivalent practical experience.
