The Gynaecology Service situated at Christchurch Women's Hospital is a world class facility that opened in 2005. This position will work across all areas of the service including our Gynae Ward, Gynae Acute Assessment Unit and Gynae Procedure Unit and Colposcopy Clinic. This wide-ranging workplace ensures there is never a dull moment, your scope of practice is extensive, and you will develop a broad range of skills.
NgÄ pÅ«kenga me ngÄ wheako - Skills and Experience
We are looking for a Registered Nurse preferably with recent Surgical/ Intraoperative/Recovery experience to work in a multidisciplinary team that provides all facets of care to women, including those undergoing termination of pregnancy. Your ability to work in an empathetic non-judgemental manner is imperative to your success in this role.
Ideally you will have experience in Women's Health, surgical or acute nursing with sound acute assessment and critical thinking skills, however you will be given a comprehensive orientation to all areas. Knowledge and experience in Women's Health including contraception, venepuncture and intravenous sedation would be an advantage.
You will have effective interpersonal and communication skills coupled with excellent organisational and time management skills. Your initiative, excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively and efficiently complete tasks will help you develop your skills in the ward.
The Gynaecology Service has shifts from Monday to Sunday on a rotating roster
