Due to an internal promotion an opportunity has become available for an experienced, enthusiastic individual to manage and lead the transport operations of the business and drive it forward in an ever-changing environment.

Reporting directly to the Group Transport Manager and regular contact with the CEO, this role will provide multifaceted strategic leadership and hands on direction for the organisation.

The role will be based in Awarua, Southland with travel to the North Island required.

Responsibilities will include :

• Implementation of strategic objectives.
• Leadership and development for all Open Country Transport Management team members.
• Oversight of health, safety and environmental systems.
• Managing all finances and assets.
• Overall efficient and effective transport operations.
• Delivery of excellent customer service.
• Lead and promote a culture of achievement.

The successful applicant will have :

• An influential leadership style with the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with a range of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success in a senior management role, responsible for a business unit.
• Significant experience in managing commercial business affairs, especially in strategic implementation, people management and financial management.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
