Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity

Starship Child Health has an amazing opportunity for a Programme Manager to work with the National Child Cancer Network (NCCN). The Programme Manager is part of a small, high-performing and flexible team responsible for the development and implementation of the NCCN’s work programme. The position works closely with the National Clinical Lead, providing non-clinical management, strategy and administrative support. A driving focus for this role is actualising equity through Te Tiriti o Waitangi while holding tamariki and whānau at the centre of Network initiatives.

NCCN brings together health professionals, carers and stakeholder organisations to provide leadership for service development across child cancer services in New Zealand. The Network creates awareness of linkages between individuals and service providers, identifying opportunities to share information, knowledge and best practice across the country. The Network supports a series of working groups, involving a diverse range of health and voluntary sector professionals. They provide advice, recommendations and action plans on specific areas of service delivery.

  • Experience in all aspects of programme management – planning, business case development, design, change management, risk management, benefit realisation, communication, reporting and evaluation
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (health, clinical, administration, management, social science)
  • Experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Experience in planning, implementation, reporting and evaluation processes.
  • Experience in stakeholder and external relationship management
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of health and/or social services sectors.
