About the role
As part of the Integrity and Conduct Group, The National Integrity Unit (NIU) undertakes specialist investigations into criminal behaviour, corruption and related employment matters involving Police staff that fit within the NIU's scope and purpose, and is a leading voice in the prevention of corruption and insider threats.
The NIU seeks an Intelligence Analyst to join its Data and Information team based in either Wellington or Auckland. As an Intelligence Analyst you will provide specialist support to Senior Integrity Investigators to enable fact-finding and investigative activities in criminal and employment investigations. You will excel in collating information from a wide variety of sources, including social media, and will produce intelligence for investigations through your ability to manage and interpret large data sets, using a wide a variety of analytical tools. You will take pride in clearly and concisely communicating your findings.
You will also have an eye on the ‘big picture' and identify thematic issues in order to highlight and prevent vulnerabilities that enable corruption. You will not be afraid to use your critical thinking skills to challenge the status quo and will be comfortable providing verbal and written briefings to a wide variety of audiences in order to provide objective recommendations with regard to integrity related risk.
You will use your skills, knowledge, and experience to coach others on best practice Intelligence tradecraft, support team development, and foster a positive and productive team culture. While technical skills are important to us, team fit is just as important for this role. You will be working in an open-plan, collaborative environment with a diverse range of individuals.
