The business generates revenue of £1.4bn, returning around £200m profit to BBC Public Service each year. In the UK, BBC Studios enables audiences to enjoy their favourite BBC programmes and brands outside the licence fee-funded window on alternative platforms, through a range of partnerships, and in multiple formats, from products and magazines to events and experiences.
We have a rare and exciting opportunity available to join the Radio & Music department here at BBC Studios as a Music Publishing Assistant. You will liaise with relevant BBC and independent production personnel regarding the commissioning of music, and advise on the choice of composer or music where required.
You will provide and co-ordinate specific composer pitches for producer consideration whilst negotiating with composers with a view to acquiring music publishing rights and calculate investment towards production music budgets.
At BBC Studios, we seek people who are passionate about who we are and what we do.
The successful candidate will have a keen interest in music across all genres and a strong understanding of music production.
You’ll have the ability to demonstrate negotiation skills in a commercial environment preferably within the media or music industry. An understanding and knowledge of music copyright and the music publishing industry would also be of benefit.
