The Role

Woodside Vet Group are looking for an additional mixed vet to work between our three practices in Royal Deeside, Aberdeenshire. Our workload consists of 40% small animal, 40% farm (beef and sheep) and 20% first opinion equine. TB testing is minimal while our local, family run farms are progressive, well equipped and engaged with us. Our small animal clients enjoy a high standard

Rota 

• Full time is a 4 day working week (40 hours).
• We are genuinely open to part time or job share applications.
• OOH is shared equally between all vets.
• 1:6 weekends first on call and 1:6 weekends second on call equates to 1:3 weekends working but never with two first on nights in a row. Also meaning dedicated back up is rota'd.

Salary 

From £30,000 negotiable depending on experience

About us

We are a close knit team of 7 vets (2 Clinical Directors who very much enjoy being vets!), 3 excellent and highly motivated nurses with a lovely team of support staff. We’re a relaxed practice who know our clients and enjoy doing the best we can for them.

The main purpose built surgery is in the village of Torphins and has a large garden with ample parking. We have all the usual kit - digital X-ray, ultrasound with cardiac probe, video endoscope, in-house bloods, EEJ and EasiScan.

We’re an accredited nurse training practice and have one vet studying for an Ophthalmology certificate.

Royal Deeside is an area of outstanding natural beauty stretching between Aberdeen City and the Cairngorms (google Queen’s View Tarland). The Queen likes it here and we think she’s got good taste! There’s lots of tourism here so there’s no shortage of things to do - hillwalking, skiing, fishing, castles and whisky all whilst being half an hour away from the city lights.

Candidate Requirements

• Must be a qualified RCVS registered veterinary surgeon.
• New or recent graduates welcome to apply as support will be provided.
• Full UK drivers license essential.
