Job Description
We are looking for individuals who would be interested in building brilliance with us as a Mine Operator 1.2. This is a full time 6 month term contract at our Atlantic Operations. The opportunity is offered on a 4 days on, 4 days off schedule working 12 hour rotational shifts. Reporting to the Mine Operations Supervisor, your role will be responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment (haul trucks, excavators, loaders and / or various support equipment) to meet mining objectives.
The Opportunity
- Ensuring own Health & Safety as well as that of all other workers, identifying and maintaining safe work practices and completing all required safety training.
- Applying all applicable regulations, codes and corporate/site standard operating procedures.
- Completing competency training on at least one core piece of mobile equipment with a focus on Haul Truck. Achieve competency sign-off by Heavy Equipment Operations (HEO) Trainer.
- Responsible for safe use and inspection of required equipment each shift.
- Reporting damage or malfunctions to vehicle immediately to the Mine Operations Supervisor.
- Assisting in all aspects of daily mine activities as directed by the Mine Operations Supervisor with an active focus on material movement and reporting.
- Practicing good housekeeping, clean cab, windows, mirrors regularly with special focus on shift changes.
- Obeying all driving rules on site.
- Be aware of surroundings always.
Requirements:

- A demonstrated commitment to safety required.
- Valid Driver's license, minimum class 5.
- Previous experience with heavy equipment (particularly haul truck) considered a very strong asset.
- Willingness to work in a team environment.
- Ability to complete daily logs accurately.
