About this role

This role will play an instrumental role in designing the customer base approach to migrations. We have a number of big changes on the horizon, which if executed well, could be a massive opportunity for us. The types of migrations we will be looking at are complex but it is imperative we get it right. These include Digital Voice - competitors are evolving their portfolios, with an emphasis on IP Voice. We need to accelerate growth through ensuring we are targeting the right propositions to the right customers. We’ll also be looking at transitioning customers from copper-based access products to full fibre based access products. The candidate will deliver the relevant proactive and reactive campaigns and business rule changes through sales, marketing and trading teams as needed.

The successful candidate will have excellent analytical skills and will quickly be able to identify opportunities from trends they see in the data. High quality insight and judgement of this role holder will be key as base management decisions have an immediate impact on the P&L. Creating a manageable segmentation, with relevant messaging and props which appeal to our customers is key.  The individual must work closely with their counterparts in the insights team, marketing team and in base management to ensure that the segmentation is useable and useful across teams.

You'll have the following responsibilities

Segmentation: to clearly segment the base of customers we want to migrate into meaningfully different segments which are actionable – e.g. product holding, digital maturity, industry, geography (availability of FTTP/5G), BT and competitor relationships, etc. Use internal BT data but also work with 3rd parties to landscape and do primary research to get this info.

Base management: to create and execute commercial plans to maximise value from those segments considering customer level KPIs such as value, share of wallet, tenure, and engagement/customer success. Evolve segmentation based on new data available, new props, new information, regulatory changes, competitor activity.

You'll have the following skills & experience

Excellent analytical skills: the ability to distil large volumes of data and information in order to pull out key trends and identify meaningful and actionable segments.

Commercial acumen with rapid analysis and decision making: understanding of the levers that drive commercial performance including competitors, marketing, customer proposition, pricing, regulation/legal, sales and financials.

Financially literate: able to understand the financial performance of the business and how operational performance translates to financial outcomes in the form of a P&L.  Support the development of complex business cases that may impact numerous parts of the business.  Provide in-depth commentary that reflects understanding of wider operating environment.

Outcome orientated: The role holder must be focused on delivering the best outcomes, being ready to challenge stakeholders as needed and manage areas of conflict with data driven recommendations to deliver at pace.

Exemplary Communicator: Verbal and PowerPoint presentations that boil complex plans and processes into the key relevant information and/or decision point for stakeholders in BT Enterprise, at all levels from CEO, MD to managerial and operational sales and service teams.

Thinking differently: Someone who is able to challenge the status quo and influence across Enterprise, BT & the wider industry in order to transform our customer relationships and experience.

Effective planner and co-ordinator: This is a complex part of the market and the organisation. This role needs someone who can create momentum behind well-structured plans and effective governance in a highly matrixed environment.
