BBC Media Planning are currently recruiting for a Media Scheduler to work across our TV inventory. This is a permanent role based in Salford.
The Media Planning department manage the BBC’s promotional inventory. Covering everything from TV and Radio airtime to iPlayer and BBC Homepage promotional activity, the department provides insight into how to effectively target the right audiences to achieve the desired marketing objectives. We work closely with marketing teams and advise on all uses of inventory across the BBC portfolio as well as liaising with external media buying agencies.
The Media Scheduler is responsible for scheduling all interstitial marketing items across a given promotional space, or spaces, in line with the marketing, editorial and scheduling requirements.
Specialising in Media Planning’s television inventory, this role will be working across our TV channels such as CBBC, CBeebies and BBC News. You will be responsible for applying the principles of media planning, marketing and advertising and using all available audience data to create the most audience focused promotions schedule. You will also have responsibility for ensuring schedules are editorially sound, meets all the requirements of transmission and are fit for publication. You will be responsible for a small team of Assistant Media Schedulers and work as part of a team responsible for all our promotional output across BBC television.
The successful individual will have significant digital broadcast or similar agency experience in media planning, with experience of managing a team of people.
You will have a demonstrable understanding of audience data with the ability to analyse, interpret and apply media research. In addition it you will be informed of television/ digital audience scheduling and evaluation systems.
You will have a keen interest in and knowledge of television/radio/digital output and the BBC, the ability to analyse digital analytics and write reports, and excellent senior stakeholder management skills.
