Job Introduction

The BBC are seeking a Media Portfolio Lead to join our Media Planning team.

The Media Planning team is responsible for the delivery of marketing campaigns across both internal media channels (TV, Radio and Digital) and external media channels.

This a 12 month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave, and is based at MediaCity in Salford.

Role Responsibility

• Input into each priority campaign brief, defining appropriate campaign objectives and advising on the most effective, efficient and timely use of the BBC's and external promotional resources.
• Be the single point of contact for Marketing teams for brand, campaign and channel media strategy across all media inventory.
• Be a guardian of BBC brands and develop in-depth knowledge of channels/stations’ media inventory acting as a point of arbitration for media planning issues and conflicts.
• Have an awareness of BBC brands, strategies and target audiences to assess appropriate and accurate promotional media content.
• Build relationships with BBC stakeholders, across divisions, nations and regions.

The Ideal Candidate

• A strategic thinker, able to articulate a vision and goals, generate innovative ideas and approaches, and translate these into practical realities.
• A record of achievement in the field of media planning gained at a senior level ideally within broadcasting or media/integrated marketing agency.
• Experience of developing new and effective media planning strategies likely to have been gained in a large organisation.
• Experience of influencing senior managers and instigating, co-ordinating and communicating promotional strategy.
• Able to collaborate across organisational boundaries, embrace change and make improvements to working practices.
