Dawn Aerospace, based in both New Zealand and the Netherlands, is a space transportation company providing in-space satellite propulsion to its customers globally and developing a same-day reusable spaceplane.

Dawn Aerospace is recruiting for an exceptional marketing professional. This is a fixed-term, full-time position of one year (supporting maternity cover). However, subject to company growth, there is the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role.

We’re looking for a team player who can fully immerse themselves in a technical environment - it’s essential you enjoy learning about new and complex technologies.

As the role involves events and hosting, there is a requirement to be physically located in Christchurch, New Zealand.

Responsibilities

• Draft copy for diverse channels and audiences (brochures, newsletters, social media, press releases, website material, technical flyers, and manuals, etc.)
• Support the planning and execution of digital marketing, including web, SEO/SEM, email, and social media
• Measure and report performance of marketing campaigns and assess against goals

• Collaborate with internal engineering and sales teams to create technical marketing collateral

• Collaborate with agencies and other vendors (particularly on media relations and visual design)
• Organise exhibitions and promotional events (both in-person and digital) and attend them to facilitate their success
• Prepare and deliver promotional presentations
• Compose and post content on the company’s website, manage CMS (currently Squarespace), develop landing pages
• Undertake administrative tasks to ensure the functionality and coordination of the marketing team
• Keep calendars (editorial, press conferences, events, etc.) and media lists
• Host visitors, guests, and contractors in Dawn’s New Zealand premises

• Brainstorm new and creative marketing strategies
• Collaborate with managers in preparing budgets and monitoring expenses
• Oversee product photoshoots and video production

Requirements

• Proven experience as marketing advisor, or similar role, ideally in a tech or engineering environment
• Willingness and enthusiasm to learn about technology, engineering and space
• Proficient in MS Office and marketing software
• Excellent communication (written and verbal)
• Ability to work quickly and decisively
• Creativity, discretion and commercial awareness
• Willingness to travel for work

Nice-to-have

• Experience using Canva, Squarespace, Mailchimp, Google Analytics
• Design, photography or video production experience
