We are currently looking for a Marketing Executive in BBC Radio, on a 9 month fixed term basis, based at Broadcasting House W1.
The BBC’s Speech & Classical Radio networks (including Radio 3, Radio 4, Radio 4 Extra, Radio 5 Live and Radio 5 Sports Extra) are critical to our mission to fuel growth of consumption in BBC Sounds through world class music, radio and podcast commissioning.
Audiences are at the heart of everything we do at the BBC and ensuring that this remains so is the role of the Chief Customer Officer Group. Marketing at the BBC aims to make our organisation more loved and chosen more often in order to provide the best possible value for UK licence fee payers. We’re responsible for brand strategies, campaigns and audience engagement, helping to influence commissioning strategies, editorial propositions, and collaboratively delivering a consistent and compelling Brand and Marketing Strategy for the BBC as a whole.
As the Marketing Executive you will work on the day to day delivery of outstanding multi-media marketing campaigns to drive audiences to BBC Radio (via Sounds).
You will develop campaigns from planning through to post-campaign evaluation and work with the Marketing Manager and colleagues on strategies to maximise daily habit.
You will need to establish great working relationships with the wider M&A team. A key part of this role will be to ensure that our vision for the networks is more than just a marketing thing; that it infuses the whole team and all our output around a unified and consistent proposition.
You will bring our networks to life in a way which engages and motivates audiences and drives credit for the network and for the BBC Sounds. You will lead and encourage innovation and have excellent knowledge of current trends in marketing, digital and social media.
To be successful in this role, you will need solid marketing experience ideally gained within youth broadcast media or within an organisation with comparable levels of complexity to that of the BBC. Importantly you will have an impressive record of creative achievement and driving creative innovation.
You will have a sound understanding of a range of marketing techniques with a proven track record of delivering multi-media creative campaigns for large brands, managing budgets and ensuring resources are used efficiently. You will demonstrate experience working with in house and agency creative partners leading the way in new digital and social media campaigns.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders and teams across the BBC as well as external agencies. This is an exciting, fast moving environment, which requires an organised and proactive Marketing Executive. You will have a genuine passion for the output of BBC Radio and Sounds and the wider competitive audio and music landscape.
