Ballard Power Systems is seeking a Market Analyst to join our Commercial team. As part of the Marketing department, the successful candidate will be responsible for collecting, tracking and analyzing market data into insights to enable our commercial and executive teams to make data driven decisions. The ideal candidate posses an analytical mind with the ability to sort through large data sets but also possesses the ability to communicate what the data means for our business and the broader industry.

Responsibilities:

• Collect data on customers, competitors and the marketplace
• Consolidate information into actionable insights for the commercial and marketing teams to use in reports and presentations
• Keep track of our market segments and associated data such as TAM, SAM, SOM…
• Perform valid and reliable market research and keep an updated SWOT analysis
• Interpret data, formulate reports and make recommendations
• Use online market research and catalogue findings to databases
• Provide competitive analysis on various companies’ market offerings, identify market trends, business models and route to market
• Remain fully informed on market trends, other parties research, and implement best practices

Requirements:

• 5+ years experience in a B2B market research role
• Bachelor’s degree in economics or business
• Knowledge of the automotive or energy sector would be a plus
• Experience with cleantech sector a plus
• Strong analytical and critical thinking
• Strong excel skills
• Ability to advise clients or senior management on the best ways to use the gathered data
• Strong communication and presentation skills
