Job Description

We are sourcing a Manager to drive the success and continuous improvement of one of our transport operations in Eastern Creek, Sydney. This leadership role will be responsible for championing safety on site and will hold a 'safety obsessed' attitude, believing effective coaching and guiding of the team is paramount to the success of a leader.

Working with the State Manager, you will lead and be involved in developing initiatives, re-engineering processes and implementing business strategies to ensure the ongoing achievement of  the customer and Toll objectives. You will own the P&L and as such must have prior experience in this area, as well as reporting and presenting in monthly and quarterly reviews. Responsible for the people, cost control, profitability, safety and security and the efficient functioning of the site, this is an all encompassing Transport operation management role.

As the Manager you will:

• Set and manage standards and performance expectations for front line leadership to ensure the highest standard of customer service reliability.
• Ensure front line work groups have a customer first mindset, and are maintaining safe and sustainable work practices.
• Maximize profitability by linking management goals and standards with practical means of achievement in a high impact operation.
• Create and develop business growth initiatives and collaborate with internal stakeholder to implement these initiatives successfully.  
• Champion safety on site and ensure the health and safety responsibilities of all staff are effectively communicated. 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Tertiary qualification in Logistics Management or Business highly desirable.
• Previous demonstrable experience and knowledge of the transport and logistics industry.
• Strong stakeholder management and leadership ability including mentoring and coaching new team members.
• Experience owning a P&L and knowledge of budgeting and financial reporting.
