Our role is to coordinate and align the planning that will shape the future of Greater Sydney, accelerate the delivery of key economic precincts and lead discussion on the major city-shaping issues across the three cities.

About the team: Greater Sydney Commission's Technology branch is a dedicated to bringing innovation and improving the efficiency and speed at which the commission operates. They are proud of the critical role they play in helping shape Sydney into a more productive, liveable and sustainable city.

The opportunity:

The Manager Technology is responsible for managing and coordinating system administration services for the Commission's workforce and performance systems and technologies. The role manages business as usual (BAU) activities and technical support and advice to users across platforms and technologies.

In this role you will:

Work professionally and collaboratively with internal staff and third-party ICT providers to troubleshoot and resolve incidents, problems and requests efficiently and effectively

Promote the continuous exchange and enhancement of knowledge and skills to minimise adverse impact of systems availability on business continuity in a predominately outsourced GovConnect environment

Provide specialist system support for both outsourced and internally managed systems including complex problem analysis and advice to internal and external support team members

Reduce operational risk and improve availability of the outsourced and internal server infrastructure by ensuring system access, monitoring, control, evaluation and documentation practices are maintained and adhered to

Develop, maintain and perform operational procedures and ensure operational tasks are performed reliably and consistently to reduce the risk of unplanned outages

Evaluate new system hardware and software solutions and monitor the market for emerging technology

Collect and analyse operational data (especially incident and change records) to identify emerging trends and log problem records to assist with problem resolution and increased availability.

Manager Technology -

About you:

Proven experience in a Technology Management position in a large complex environment

Experience delivering policy initiatives and projects to the required standards and timeframes, given the need to rapidly understand and integrate information and adapt in an often changing and unpredictable environment.

Experience managing conflicting and concurrent ICT platforms and technologies, systems and projects, some outsourced and some internally managed, with a range of business owners and timeframes.

Excellent communication skills with a great ability to connect with all levels of stakeholders

Salary: Clerk Grade 09/10 ($113,343 - $124,901) plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
