Manager - SOx IT and Compliance

Location: Newbury/Home Based (Hybrid working pattern)

What will you be doing?

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Vodafone UK subsidiary of one of the world’s largest telecommunications companies. The role is within the UK Finance Operations & controls team. Your challenge will be to drive and deliver a robust and efficient controls and compliance framework, including managing the SOX compliance process and driving process improvements whilst maintaining the appropriate controls. This role provides expert and technical advice and is in a position to drive significant change whilst establishing a robust controls framework. The candidate needs to possess the rare combination of subject matter expertise, high integrity, with strong communication and influencing skills and commercial acumen.
 

You’ll lead the following changes:

  • The design of new processes
  • Transformation delivery plans
  • Lead on readiness assessments of new controls

 

Key Accountabilities:

 

  • Delivering SOX compliance for the end-end IT Processes.
  • Developing a future strategic vision for the development of financial reporting related processes (including SOX) in light of Digital Telco vision, identifying and obtaining management buy-in on improvements in underlying processes required in alignment with the vision.
  • Implementing programme of Simplification, Standardisation and Automation across in-scope SOX systems.
  • Collaborating with Group Controls team and other local market teams and actively contribute to the overall development of internal controls framework and policies.
  • Act as subject matter expert on key IT process transformations, assess impacts resulting from changes, provide critical input into the design of new to-be processes, and ensure that change is delivered in controlled way.
  • Prepare, update and enhance value of the Company's SOX and control documentation and testing with a goal of increasing effectiveness and efficiencies within the IT processes and controls.
  • Provide business with pragmatic approach(s) in managing and resolving process and control issues .
     

 

Who are we looking for?

 

  • Solid understanding of developing leading edge IT processes and controls is essential.
  • Proven ability to communicate / influence across boundaries.
  • Able to engage with stakeholders at all levels and manage cross functional projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholder communities (finance and non-finance) with varying levels of experience.
  • ACA Qualified (We welcome Big 4 backgrounds).
  • Process design background, experience in risk assessment, systems and internal controls.
