Description

Our client is in the financial services industry sector and we're searching for a Manager, Regulatory Reporting for a 12 month contract. You will be primarily responsible for the following:

* Research and assess regulatory requirements as they apply to the business, specifically related to regulatory reporting for OSFI and also including requirements of CDIC and CMHC.

* Creating formal written reports and summarized PowerPoint presentations to communicate regulatory reporting requirements, including specific impacts and recommendations for new requirements and changes where there are either regulatory changes or business changes.

* Engage with multiple areas of the business such as credit and operations in identifying and communicating data needs as required to support regulatory reporting, in particular for new product lines or to facilitate needed regulatory changes.

* Documenting process requirements and creating process manuals for new and changed processes to support the new product lines, technical and regulatory changes

* Supporting and implementing reporting process improvements

* Assist with special projects, such as software implementations and upgrades, analysis related to potential new areas of business, and other future looking projects as assigned

* Complete and file small portfolio of complex annual reports, including the annual AMF, BCFSA and CDIC returns.

Support other members of the Regulatory Reporting team to manage high work volume and provide back up in their absence

Requirements

The ideal candidate is a designated accountant (CPA or equivalent) with 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, regulatory reporting as well as business process review experience. You also financial services experience and have the following key criteria for this contract engagement:

* Familiarity with banking regulators and related agencies, including OSFI, CDIC & FICOM

* Proven project management, research and analysis skills

* Team player

* Accountable, adaptable, flexible, innovative, takes initiative and responsive to change

* Ability to grasp business concepts in a dynamic, fast paced and multi-entity environment

* Organizational skills and great interpersonal skills dealing with multiple internal stakeholders

* Solid EQ skills
