About the role
The Strategic Communications Manager will lead a high performing and agile team responsible for developing strategies and plans that effectively communicate the Department's work, programs and initiatives. The role also requires creating and monitoring project plans and strategies, coordinating resources, leading and liaising with teams across Government, reporting and managing budgets.
You will be responsible for:
Leading the development and implementation of effective communication plans and strategies
Writing for a broad range of audiences and channels, including turning technical and complex information in plain English
Develop and manage working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

To be successful in this role, you will have:
Strategic communication experience to proactively identify opportunities and risks, and to recommend creative solutions to complex problems and sensitive issues
Proven experience in managing high-profile communications plans and delivery campaigns on time and within budget
Demonstrated organisational and project planning and management skills to support multiple concurrent projects and activities
Assisting delivery teams to monitor progress and achieve outcomes
An acute attention to details, excellent writing, editing and proofing skills for a range of audiences and channels.
