Reporting to the Head of Three Waters, the role of Manager Planning and Delivery is a pivotal one where you will be responsible for the delivery of a Capital Programme of approximately $200 million per annum. Your team of 50+ will help you ensure that renewals, improvements and growth projects are planned, prioritised and delivered - on time and within budget. You'll work closely across other units and team to provide support in the strategic direction of three waters services in the context of climate change and reform of the sector. You will be the interface for key stakeholders at central and local government level as well as community and Iwi regarding three waters capital delivery activities. You'll provide advice to elected and senior members and will manage relationships with contractors and consultants.
Day to day you'll contribute to programme steering groups and key project control groups, prepare and review reports, and you'll also complete approvals within financial delegations. You'll be responding to LGOIMA requests, will complete monthly PDP reporting and will attend industry events to understand government direction and industry trends.
What will make you successful in this role? You'll have a proven background in local government and a high level of understanding around capital delivery. You'll be commercially minded and will be able to think strategically. You'll have an overarching understanding of the three waters networks and will be qualified in an engineering related discipline or have proven extensive experience in a similar capacity. You'll have a solid understanding of project and programme management principles. Being a proven leader will show your people skills, management ability and commitment to continuous improvement.
This is an amazing opportunity that does not come around often - you'll be hands on involved in making a difference in New Zealand's Infrastructure reform and you'll be delivering high level projects that will be on the map for smart water delivery in Australasia.
