The Business Partnership Team interfaces with Air Canada business groups to identify and prioritize business requirements for IT. It aligns and translates business needs to technology requirements. The successful incumbent will play a key role in shaping the future of technology in Human Resources, Training, and Communications business groups and help set the path forward for the end users.
This position reports to the Director, Business Partnership will manage a team of IT analysts.
Functional Accountabilities:
Act as the key IT liaison across all functional areas, including business units, IT, and external vendors for HR, Training, and Communications business areas
Create successful relationships with business and being trusted advisors on issues and aspects related to IT
Achieve customer satisfaction with IT services related to the assigned business application portfolio
Analyze projects proposed by business units, and develop and implement a sound rationale for portfolio management
Possess a broad knowledge of technical and business resources with the organization and use them to effectively coordinate team members and external resources
Perform business analysis, and develop business plans and recommendations as required
Works with appropriate stakeholders to proactively identify and evaluate risks associated with business decisions.
Participate in short-and long-term strategic planning sessions with the IT organization, business units and external vendors to improve business processes and procedures
Collaborate with Digital & Technology and Delivery & Operations teams to ensure development of solutions that are compatible with company standards
Work collaboratively with service managers to develop clear and concise communications with respects to incidents, problems, and change management as needed
Identify IT risks, communicate and develop “best practice†solutions, and implement mitigating controls consistent with company strategy
Perform project reviews to ensure that they align to Air Canada’s business and information security requirements
Ensure that the company’s internal technological processes and services comply with community expectations, laws, and regulations for privacy, security, and social responsibility
Provide technology specific financial inputs related to a key functional area
Maintain a healthy work environment including development of personal growth opportunities, coaching, counseling, and mentoring for reporting employees
Qualifications
A relevant University degree/technical certification, and/or relevant experience commensurate to the role
9-12 years of IT technology and operations in a large company
These competencies are strong assets for this position;
Knowledge and understanding of all aspects of HR (e.g. recruitment, compensation, benefits, pension, payroll, training, etc.) and the HR technology industry
In-depth functional experience with an HRMS for large enterprise (i.e. Oracle PeopleSoft, SAP SuccessFactors, or Workday)
Knowledge of Canadian labour regulations and experience interpreting collective bargaining agreements (knowledge of US labour regulations an asset)
Knowledge of employee communications, investor relations, and community investment platforms
Ability to work effectively under pressure and in rapidly changing environments or uncertain conditions
Demonstrates openness and willingness to adapt to different and new ways of doing things
Takes responsibility for the results and actively participates in the future direction of the organization
Exceptional analytical, organizational and communication skills
Results oriented with proactive and methodical approach to problem solving
Must be a team player with ability to work closely with diverse groups and working styles
Ability to establish and maintain effective business relationships
Flexibility and willingness to work extended hours, when required
