Key Functions & Accountabilities
- Manage Operations with complete oversight of day-of/daily International stations activity
- Responsible for planning, developing and implementing International Operational improvement initiatives and activities
- Continuously plan, organize, manage and enhance International Operational functions
- Assume leadership for specific initiatives for process and performance improvement
- Determine performance management objectives; monitor results and work with Regional Directors as required to ensure that agreed objectives are achieved
- Establish and maintain contacts within the International Airports industry, Ground Handlers, Airport Authorities, other carriers and government offices
- Monitor the activities of all self-handled and contracted ground handlers at International stations to ensure full compliance with standard operating procedures, safety and quality assurance processes and AC’s customer service levels
- Monitor and evaluate key indicators for operational performance improvements
- Ensure that iSMS Core elements and Occupational Health and Safety requirements (including Safety and Quality Assurance and Audit programs) are developed, maintained and are effective throughout the International stations
- Lead Stations in preparedness plans for Cargo, Freighter and Passenger Ops Startups
- Responsible for GH performance
- Scheduling functions– Liaise with Commercial based on the analysis trending through performance for our Summer/Winter flight schedule. Optimize the schedule to promote connectivity through International/Domestic Hubs
- Proactively coordinate Irregular operation (IRROP) events to minimize customer impact and ensure a safe operation.
- Facilitate operational recovery after IRROP events. Coordinate and lead the Airports teams for recovery to normal operations
- Responsible for Customer Experience improvements
- Deliver Safety KPI corporate targets
- Lead Risk Management initiatives using best practices. Analyze events and create best practices for future operational hurdles.
- Initiate Mitigation plans - 420 response planning, computer outages or any operational disruptions.
Qualifications
- University or college diploma in business administration
- 7 to 10 years relevant experience with a minimum of 5 years in airline business
- Minimum 5 years in supervisory role
- Significant achievements in operational improvement
- Strong Airport Operations experience
- Proven superior interpersonal skills and leadership capabilities
- Strong analytical capabilities and able to quick decision-making with a certain level of ambiguity (risk management)
- Result focused, entrepreneurial, adaptable and action oriented\
- Proficient knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement action plans that achieve objectives
- Experience and track record leading, motivating and coaching a management team to success
- Focused on continuous improvement, must be creative and an innovative thinker
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong leadership and negotiation skills
