The Planning and Programs division lead the planning, prioritisation and delivery of current and future investments across the network, through evidence-based decision making, supporting the changes required to translate Future Transport 2056 strategic objectives into customer and community outcomes across Greater Sydney.
The opportunity
The Hawkesbury Nepean Valley (HNV) Flood Evacuation Program is a suite of programs TfNSW are delivering as part of the HNV Flood Risk Management Strategy.
As the Program Development Manager for HNV, you will be responsible for planning, managing and directing the identification, prioritisation and delivery of a range of complex initiatives for the Hawkesbury Nepean Flood Strategy to reduce flood risk to life, property and social amenity from regional floods in the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley now and in the future.
What you will be involved in
Reporting into the Director, Capital Projects Development you have the opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary team and across all 3 tiers of government.
Your key responsibilities include:
Plan, manage and direct the identification, prioritisation and delivery of a range of complex initiatives for the Hawkesbury Nepean Flood Strategy to the required time, cost, scope and quality outcomes.
Lead and manage a team of professional and technical staff in the delivery of strategic planning by managing a program of multi-modal, road safety and road transport systems performance analysis.
Represent Transport as the key interface across program initiatives and establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including INSW, SES, Department of Planning, and local councils to ensure that planning considers the needs of all customers and stakeholders.
Provide expert technical advice and prepare detailed analysis/briefing notes and reports on the implementation of the Strategy including contributing towards the updating of policy documents across the Transport Cluster to meet NSW Government objectives.
Manage the delivery of road use and road transport systems performance assessment, strategic planning studies and recommendations for appropriate road transport system enhancements including traffic, safety and road network initiatives to support the delivery of the HNV Flood Strategy.
This is a Temporary Fixed Term position to December 2024, and offers a flexible, hybrid work arrangement.
About you
We are looking for someone with previous experience in Program or Project Management, having gained this experience working on large, complex programs of work. Exposure to Infrastructure, Transport or similar industries is also highly desired, but not essential.
We are also looking for someone with exceptional communication, stakeholder management and negotiation skills as you will be working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
The successful candidate will thrive in a pressurised environment, and display agility and adaptability in an ever-changing climate. As this team leads politically charged projects with strong social implications, the successful candidate must display a high degree of professionalism and maturity, as well as integrity.
Along with the above, having an affinity to the Hawksbury, Nepean Valley region would also position you as a strong contender for the position.

Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this position is Grade 9 ($138,670 - $155,309) plus superannuation, flex-time, leave loading and other benefits.
