About u

Transport for NSW keeps our State moving by providing safe, integrated and efficient transport systems. We put our customers at the centre of everything we do – and we do a lot. We connect people, communities and industry and manage how they use our road, rail and maritime networks and services, and even active modes like walking and cycling. The work we do connects the journeys you take every day.

We are a state government organisation made up of more than 28,000 people and we're in the middle of delivering the largest transport infrastructure program in Australia's history. We work across planning, policy and procurement, harnessing data and technology to develop smarter and more adaptive transport solutions.

That means job opportunities in metropolitan and regional areas right across NSW – you have the chance to be part of creating a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come.

The Division

The Greater Sydney Division is redefining integrated transport choices to improve the lives of customers and communities, making Greater Sydney a better place to live, work and play. We have the single biggest place making opportunity at Transport in the coming years, reshaping Greater Sydney into a metropolis of three cities – Eastern Harbour City, Central River City and Western Parklands City - whilst also overseeing the Greater Sydney region as a whole.

Greater Sydney is focused on these three cities and delivering a joined up transport network and services to ensure these cities become the places that their customers and communities really want

The Team

The Strategy & Implementation Branch within Greater Sydney division has been established to ensure effective leadership in the implementation of the Client Delivery Model (CDM) which puts customer and community outcomes at the core of what we deliver.

The function of the team is to primarily to lead strategy and implementation of the CDM, however it is also responsible for the leadership of business planning activities for the division, delivery of strategic projects, and management and oversight of the governance functions across the division.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Governance, you will be responsible for engaging with executive leaders across Greater Sydney to define the activities needed to drive the outcomes and programs of work identified in the Strategic Roadmap and Business Plans.  You will also manage the governance structures and processes needed to oversee delivery of the programs and prioritise how the business works together to achieve its purpose.

You will lead a team of Governance and Assurance Officers responsible for providing information and support, to enable decision making and to ensure that governance frameworks, policies and procedures are consistently applied.

About You

This role will suit a collaborative leader who is able to connect the dots. You will be experienced at leading, supporting and inspiring a team to achieve results through influencing, motivating, and encouraging stakeholders who are responsible for completion of outcomes.

You will be highly organised and experienced in setting meeting agenda’s, as well as preparing briefs, reports and insights that provide a strong foundation for executive level decision making, and which meet executive, government, ministerial, and parliamentary obligations.

Continuous improvement will be second nature, you’ll be joining a team that allows sufficient flexibility to experiment and create new opportunities for improvement. You will be experienced at managing regular review of processes, recommending, and implementing changes, documenting new process and procedures to support compliance, continuous improvement and innovative best practice in governance.
