The Team,
The Employee Relations team manages the employee and industrial relations of Transport for NSW. TfNSW includes the large blue collar workforces employed by Sydney Trains’ and NSW TrainLink in the federal system, and the large white collar workforces primarily in the NSW system.
The Employee Relations team oversees the negotiation and interpretation of enterprise agreements and NSW State Awards, disputes, and consultations. We navigate a complex industrial landscape to achieve strategic and operational outcomes for TfNSW, working closely with managers and unions. Our ambitious and supportive team includes experts from legal, HR, change management, industrial and employee relations backgrounds.
The opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Manager, Employee Relations. As a Manager, Employee Relations you will wear many hats, such as advisor, coach, collaborator, advocate, and negotiator.
You will be shrewd in establishing partnerships with managers to develop and lead strong employee relations during a significant period of structural, cultural, and technological change.
The base location for this role is flexible, though you will have the opportunity to flexibility to work from home and other locations.
About you
We are looking for a highly engaged and experienced industrial relations professional with a passion for lifting performance and focussing on outcomes. You have experience managing IR in a complex organisation, with active union representation.
You’re a proactive and self-driven individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to engage and build effective working relationships with a diverse range of people.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Transport Service Grade 9A ($138,670) – 9E ($155,309) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
