About the team

 

The Security, Crisis and Emergency Management (SCEM) branch in Transport for NSW (Transport)has the primary goal to partner with, prepare and enable all our divisions and operating agencies in protecting Transport -our people, our customers, and our assets.

 

The SCEM branch represents Transport at the state emergency level and ensures we meet our obligations when it comes to all thing’s security, crisis and emergency and ensures that Transport can continue to deliver our essential services for the people of NSW in the face of a major event.

 

 

The opportunities

 

Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Manager, Emergency Prevention and Recovery within our Security, Crisis and Emergency Management branch.

 

The primary purpose of the role is to contribute to the overall customer experience by leading the development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of emergency preparedness strategies and planning across the Transport portfolio, in partnership with operating agencies and stakeholders.

 

Key to success in the role is being able to manage the development, implementation and coordination of Statewide transport emergency capability, while developing effective Prevention and recovery Strategies for the Transport Cluster. As well as driving outcomes in a high-pressure, high-volume environment, with multiple stakeholders with competing priorities and under tight timeframes.

 

Based at Macquarie Park, with flexible working arrangements, this role is fixed term for 12 months with the potential to extend. There are two direct reports.

About you

 

You are a manager level professional experienced in Emergency and prevention coordination. You will represent the Transport portfolio as an Emergency Management, Emergency Prevention and Recovery Co-ordinator and ensure adequate coordination of emergency prevention and recovery activities.

Possessing strong engagement and communication skills, you will build rapport easily, be pragmatic in your approach and comfortable working in the unknown and evaluating matters as they arise.

 

These positions form part of the Security, Crisis and Emergency Management Team at Transport, which activates from time to time to manage emergency response and recovery. As such, the role may form part of an on-call roster and may be required at times to do shift and weekend work

 

 

Salary and Benefits 

 

The salary for this position is Grade 9 ($138,670 - $155,309) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading
