About IT at TfNSW
TfNSW’s IT group provides the tools, information and services that enable 30,000 employees to deliver a smart and efficient transport network. The Division
Corporate Services provide strategies, solutions and services that make our clients’ working lives easier, and their projects more efficient and effective. 
The opportunity
The primary purpose of this role is to data engineer dedicated to the delivery of advancing the data and advanced analytics platforms. The role has primary ownership of the data services and analytics delivery which integrates various data sources to produce analysis, reporting, and advanced insights.
Key accountabilities:
Provide managerial and technical oversight of data solutions to meet business, technical and user requirements, including building modern data pipelines that meet functional / non-functional business requirements and provide end to end data solutions.
Lead and participate in proofs-of-concept on platform innovation, and effectively transition and scale those concepts into production with a focus on delivering business value.
Contribute to ongoing technical and business outcomes of the cloud data platform including platform enhancements, capacity management, performance monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues.
Drive the uplift in design by automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery and re-designing virtualised infrastructure for greater scalability and business value.
Technical ownership for data and data pipelines to ensure compliance with data standards, architectural standards, and the achievement of business requirements.
About You
Configuration and coordination of data pipelines across projects with a AWS cloud first approach but additionally using tooling such as Talend.
Working with tools such as ERWIN and other data modelling and profiling tools with previous experience working on large data engineering and migration programmes.
Previous experience working with data, data environments, databases and large data sets.
A strong background in coding with possible experience with SQL, Python, C# and Java.
Essential Requirements
Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in a relevant field.

Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 9 $138,670 - $155,309 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
