About the team
The People Communications and Engagement branch connects, inspires, and empowers the people of Transport to deliver on our strategic objectives and bring our cultural aspirations to life. Our team create and deliver strategy and plans that connect meaningful engagement activity to business outcomes, impactful and creative content and innovative campaigns. We tell Transport’s story, drive positive change and are helping to build a culture that puts customers at the centre, people at the heart and deliver outcomes for the greater good.
The opportunity
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Manager, Communications & Engagement to work within our Greater Sydney portfolio, a key portfolio group for Transport for NSW. Your primary role is to drive development and implementation of high value, future-focused communication and engagement strategies to help team Transport deliver its strategic agenda.
The role work across a complex, matrix-style environment and works closely with various stakeholders and business partners to drive the strategic direction and manage the development of impactful and targeted content that engages different audience groups.
Key priorities/deliverables can include:
Partnering with senior leaders to develop and implement strategic communications and engagement strategies that deliver on specific business needs and priorities
Leveraging your experience, knowledge of the business and critical thinking skills to provide strategic advice and guidance to leaders, partners and key stakeholders
Creating and delivering engaging, impactful and targeted multi-channel content strategies that resonates with audience groups and drives employee engagement, customer outcomes and business improvement
With an understanding of digital marketing, you keep across all the latest platform trends and look for opportunities to produce creative and engaging content that tells a story with impact
You have the ability to quickly establish strong relationships with business partners and key stakeholders to influence and negotiate in the successful delivery of communications plans
Working closely with PC&E peers and colleagues to support shared success and attention to results
Lead a team of creative content specialists and oversee event delivery

About you
You have a proven track record in creating and delivering successful internal and external communication plans that have positively engaged and inspired large and diverse audience groups.
A natural self-starter and team player, you build relationships easily and can work with diverse stakeholders with competing deadlines and conflicting priorities.
Managing a team of 3, current and previous people management and leadership experience is a must.
You have a can-do attitude, excellent communication skills and solid experience operating both autonomously and under direction in a complex, operational, fast-paced environment.
You have a strong work ethic and take a hands-on approach to creating and delivering multi-channel content.
You use data and feedback to inform and improve strategies, plans, channel selection and content.
You’re a professional who models the highest standards of integrity and professional conduct.
Tertiary-qualified in Communications, Journalism, Marketing (or relevant discipline), or equivalent experience.
Salary and Benefits
In addition to accessing flexible work practices, you will be joining a high-performing, talented team of communications professionals unlike anywhere else.
The salary for this position is Transport Service Grade 9A - 9E ($138,670 - $155,309) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
