About the role:

As the Manager, Capital Delivery you will provide strategic leadership to deliver significant property development projects that support transformational programmes across the Ministry. You will lead a team that is responsible for delivering a range of property and construction projects with varying levels of complexity and risk, including all major and minor capital expenditure initiatives. 

 Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing strategic leadership and advice to ensure continued focus on outcomes and support the delivery of programmes and capital projects.
• Developing, maintaining and managing the overarching programme approach, plan and budget through the lifecycle of the programme.
• Delivering on business unit and team goals/outcomes within agreed time frames and quality standards
• Fostering a high level of functional and technical expertise within the business unit
• Contributing to the development of wider business unit strategies and plans (providing input on team priorities and context)
• Managing relationships and providing trusted advice and services to the judiciary and stakeholders and contributing to the provision of trusted advice to the Minister

Working alongside the Strategy and Planning team, you will help assist in ensuring that co-design will be core to the success of these programmes and this role will need to work in partnership with iwi, the local community, the judiciary to ensure the strategic outcomes are delivered through these programmes.

You will bring to this role:

• A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience and a demonstrable commitment to ongoing professional development
• A strong understanding of workings of Government, the legislative process and the Justice sector
• The ability to read, understand and interpret complex documents, including legislation, financial, numerical, building plans and other business information
• Proven programme management experience in a complex multi stakeholder environment using structured programme and project practices
• Experience providing leadership across and within organisations, including experience mentoring and developing employees
