If so, the Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) supply chain team is looking for an experienced leader with a strong record of achieving results, to create and execute the worldwide AMXL supply chain by working closely with our retail and operations partners across the globe in order to effectively manage volume flows and fullness for our fulfillment centers and delivery stations.
AMXL, formerly known as Special Handling, obsesses over customers by offering a white glove service where we deliver TVs and other large items like furniture in customers homes. Not only do we deliver large parcels, we unpack, assemble, install and sometimes even do tests, hauling away old items as needed. As we head into Peak, we continue to build our special handling fulfillment, delivery and services network and will add more fulfillment centers and delivery stations across NA and EU. We are currently in the process of building out a network that is poised for big growth in the coming years.
The Business Analyst will support the rapid growth of this initiative by developing business metrics, mining data to uncover consumer insights and business opportunity, and partnering with internal stakeholders to drive the business. In this role, the candidate will be focused on highly analytical projects driving results within the supply chain operations.
Specific responsibilities include identifying the necessary metrics and creating reports to increase understanding of the business, proactively identifying pain points or opportunities through systemic measurement. As part of responsibilities, the candidate will be presenting qualitative and quantitative analysis to key stakeholders by blending advanced reporting and project management skills.
Responsibilities include:
· Inspire and manage a talented Business Analysis team to achieve its goals and development potential
· Define and manage a long-term vision and portfolio of initiatives to improve the customer experience and business results through creating world-class metrics, analysis, visualizations, and data-driven storytelling.
· Drive a Business Analyst roadmap; prioritize business insight requests to balance the tactical and strategic information needs of the business
· Collaborate and partner with the AMXL organization to understand, anticipate, and respond to current and future information needs
· Designing and implementing reporting solutions to enable stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.
· Supporting cross-functional teams on the day-to-day execution of the existent program implementation.
· Driving large scale operational enhancement projects.
· Lead the definition and governance of key business metrics, drive the vision and building of self-service analytic capabilities, and engineer data-driven processes that drive business value
· Connect with the Amazon community of data professionals to stay current on technology trends, data tools and techniques to improve the performance of the team
· Create and foster an environment that values and promotes an inclusive approach to problem solving and continuous learning to improve.
· Experience managing Business Intelligence Engineers, Data Engineers, Data Scientists, and/or Business Analysts
· 5+ years of industry experience in Business Intelligence, Data Science, Data Engineering, Software Development, or related field with a track record of producing actionable business insights from large datasets
· Hands-on experience with SQL and data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
· Excellent communication skills to summarize insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication
· Ability to navigate ambiguity to develop and champion new ideas and creative solutions
· Ability to lead successfully in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
· Ability to manage team to meet tight deadlines and prioritize workloads
· 3+ years experience managing Business Intelligence Engineers, Data Scientists, and/or Business Analysts
· Experience working with AWS big data technologies (Redshift, S3, EMR)
· Ability to lead a team to deliver a project/program from scoping requirements through actual launch
· Demonstrated ability to write complex, optimized SQL queries across large data sets
· Proficiency in at least one programming language used for data science such as Python, R, etc.
· Knowledge of various machine learning techniques and key parameters that affect their performance
· Prior experience solving complex quantitative business challenges
· Prior experience operating strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
· Excellent communication skills to summarize insights and recommendations to audiences of varying levels of technical sophistication
· Ability to navigate ambiguity to develop and champion new ideas and creative solutions
