The Bespoke Engineering team in Rolls-Royce Motor Cars is based in Goodwood at the Home of Rolls-Royce. The role of Manager, Bespoke Special Vehicles is responsible for providing overall steering of Bespoke features and projects to meet the pre-agreed milestones within the Bespoke business. This requires taking new features from concept, through engineering construction, development and release in a multi project landscape. Key accountability is delivery of the agreed additional potential contribution from Bespoke new features. 

The role steers a team consisting of a mixture of Digital / Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers specialised within vehicle exteriors and also digital innovations. Leadership of the team with innovation, creativity and continuous improvement within the highly creative world of Bespoke requires an enthusiastic approach, strong understanding of new product development engineering, industry process best practice and a strong leadership ethos to work with a dynamic team. Joining a wider leadership team within Engineering, Purchasing and Quality Management to deliver Bespoke product along with key stakeholders within the organisation including Sales & Marketing, Project Management, Manufacturing and Design. Wider interfaces within the network of the BMW Engineering CoC's in Munich is essential to effectively deliver integrated product solutions.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent - Mechanical or Electrical
• Extensive experience within product development 
• Good interpersonal skills with an ability to influence key stakeholders
• People management, coaching and development skills
• Experience of Automotive component development and testing processes
• Experience of milestone product development processes / gateway processes
• Management of multiple projects of differing timelines

Desired but not essential;

• Knowledge of BMW engineering / release systems
• Second language skills desirable (preferably German business level)
