About the team
Finance and Investment Division (FID) is a trusted advisor to the Transport Cluster, and partners with our stakeholders to make all financial and funding considerations for our once-in-a-generation $71.5 billion infrastructure program.
We provide best in class financial management to support decision-making on transport services, infrastructure investment and delivery. FID plays a critical role in project prioritisation and funding, enterprise planning and financial management and control.

The opportunity
Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Manager Asset Accounting to join the Asset Accounting team and lead the asset accounting and reporting of the Transport cluster’s asset portfolio.
The role is responsible for ensuring that asset related matters are managed appropriately, with specific reference to valuation, accounting, reporting capitalisation, policy and improvements for a number of agencies in the Transport Cluster.
Key accountabilities:
Ensure that asset accounting and reporting is accurate and compliant and to work closely and support the financial reporting team in preparation of the annual financial statements and other internal and external reporting obligations.
Lead the Asset Accounting team, via a teamwork approach to ensure the integrity and accuracy of asset accounting information.
Contribute to the development of and implement policies, systems and procedures to identify, record, value, depreciate, account and report on fixed assets and comply with Accounting Standards and NSW Treasury policy and requirements.
Ensure consolidation of fixed asset information to enable a complete and accurate record of the identification, location and value of the agency’s fixed assets.
Facilitate effective interactions with relevant asset / project / business managers to confirm the integrity of asset data, including the existence and review of their useful lives.
Manage the timely delivery of the asset interim / comprehensive revaluation reports by working closely with and validating reports from the external valuers and relevant asset managers.
Work closely with the financial statutory reporting and budgeting team and provide guidance on the complex asset accounting and valuation matters.
Provide asset accounting stewardship, guidance and expert advice across the organisation.
The role will provide an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating and partnering with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure high quality asset stewardship.

About you
You are tertiary qualified (Finance, Accounting, Commerce or related discipline) with relevant industry experience, and full membership of a recognised professional accounting body (CPA/CA ANZ or equivalent).
You will have demonstrated experience in working collaboratively with senior stakeholders in a dynamic, matrix environment.
Your proven experience in project management and excellent asset accounting skills will include knowledge of relevant Australian Accounting Standards and Treasury policies.
Demonstrated experience in accounting and capitalization for fixed assets and experience in working with SAP fixed assets module and Project Accounting module is a must.
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 9A ($138,670) – 9E ($155,309) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
