About IT at TfNSW

TfNSW's IT group provides the tools, information and services that enable 30,000 employees to deliver a smart and efficient transport network. We bring the future to our people by delivering innovative solutions and minimising business disruptions, building an engaged and connected workforce through tech-enablement. The Division

The role is accountable for leading the assessment, analysis, documentation and implementation of changes based on requests for change for IT Services that include infrastructure and application services. The role will develop and implement change management practices to ensure that there are minimal disruptions and that operations are maintained across the Transport cluster and improved to meet customer requirements.

The Opportunity

The role guides, leads and undertakes planning with a team of developers for the creation and changes to large or complex applications to facilitate the achievement of business outcomes. This role provides expert advice and coaching across technical areas, or targeted to deep specialised knowledge in a particular area.

Key accountabilities

Ensure sufficient development resources are available to meet projected demands from the business, managing an adequate supply capacity Identify areas of software process improvement by focusing on process definition, management, repeatability and measurement to enhance the organisational development capability.

Promote the benefits of addressing security during systems development and apply secure development improvement practices.

Determine local and team-based standards for programming tools and techniques and provide advice and guidance as to their use to ensure compliance with process and standards to maintain the quality of developed applications.

Provide appropriate quality assurance and maintenance of software environments through the entire solution delivery process (development, test, pre-production and production).

Deliver feasibility and cost-benefit analysis, including choice of application architecture to enhance the overall application development process and quality of the deliverable.

About you

Ability to manage time and meet deadlines while balancing competing priorities. With strong analytical ability, integration and problem-solving skills.

Working knowledge of IT service principles and frameworks including ITIL, process tools, frameworks, and best practice methods.

Demonstrated experience with all stages of the software development process to ensure compatibility with system architectures and compliance with quality application development standards and achievement of accurate, documented requirements and technical specifications.

Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated, relevant, equivalent professional experience

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is Grade 9 $138,670 - $155,309 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
