Global Logistics provides sophisticated supply chain solutions, from end-to-end or part solutions, warehousing and distribution to dedicated transport solutions, across the globe and to some of the most remote corners of the world.

Being a global organisation managing 13,000 fleet and machinery, we need to ensure that all these machines are efficient and safe for use. The Equipment team is responsible for fleet acquisitions, fleet management, international maintenance and continuous improvement so that Toll can continue to provide service quality.

Job Description

Toll Global Logistics is hunting a safety driven Maintenance Team Leader to manage our maintenance crews working on our fleet of Kenworth, Volvo, Mercedes and Scania trucks. Based at our East Rockingham site, this role reports to the Workshop Manager, and will work on a 2/1 roster comprising of 7 days, 7 nights and 7 off.

You will be responsible to achieve optimum fleet availability through team training, efficiencies and planning. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a step off the tools and lead a small crew of skilled mechanics, apprentices, and auto electricians. This is a full time, permanent role with the opportunity to be home every night.

As the Maintenance Team Lead, you will:

  • Liaise and work collaboratively with opposite shifts and operations teams to delver maintenance targets and outputs.
  • Conduct regular toolbox meetings and facilitate HSE initiatives. 
  • Develop a collaborative ‘customer first’ mind-set by establishing expectations and proactively supervising behaviours.
  • Actively promote the Toll Way core belief that all injuries are preventable and everyone has the right to go home safely.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Australian recognised trade qualification in Heavy Diesel Fitting, Road Transport or similar.
  • 3+ years experience working on heavy machinery, road trains, trucks or other mobile fleet. 
  • Demonstrated experience working on Kenworth, Volvo, Mercedes or Scania fleet.
  • A safety first mindset, and a customer focus in leading a team.
