ROLE RESPONSIBILITY:

Logistics Services Operative

Cheltenham, Gloucester

Full-time, 40 hrs per week

£20,190.97 per annum plus annual retention bonus of £2000, subject to maintaining Clearance requirements.

30 days holiday per year, including Bank Holidays increasing to 35 days after 5 years service, plus 2.5 Privilege days per year

 

This role and contract sit within our Facilities Management sector of G4S where we aim to improve the lives of people across the UK and Ireland by creating productive, safe and smooth working environments.

We have opportunities for Logistics Service Operatives to join our team based in Cheltenham.

You will be responsible for undertaking a range of Logistics activities relating to collection, carriage and delivery of a range of items, waste management and recycling and mail, ensuring that high standards are maintained throughout. 

You will also be given the opportunity to become skilled in a range of Logistics functions.

This is a full time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, this will be arranged on a shift rota basis covering various hours.

 

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Meet operational requirements, demonstrating a high level of flexibility, initiative and multi functionality.

  • Carry out manual handling tasks.

  • Drive vehicles and operate mechanical handling equipment on and off site.

  • Account for logistics tasks in order to maintain an audit trail.

  • Comply with health and safety and emergency procedures and abide by all appropriate Risk Assessments.

  • Wear and maintain all items of Personal Protective Equipment

  • Carry out vehicle and machinery inspections before use and complete the associated paperwork.

  • Report all unsafe conditions, damage and near misses to the Appropriate Person.

  • Become familiar with and comply with, all site rules, regulations, safe practices and procedures affecting health and safety. 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:

Requirements:

To be successful for this role, you will have excellent communication skills and be a team player. A driving licence would also be advantageous.
