Job Description

Our client in the general merchandize business is looking for a logistics and import specialist to join their team. Reporting to the director of logistics, the logistics and import specialist will provide support and guidance to the company’s 3PL including vendors, brokers and forwarders.  

Job Duties

·      Co-ordinate vendor pick-ups - domestic and US.

·      Liaison between Merchants, 3PL DC and forwarder

·      Execute all Regulatory requirements as requested in a timely manner

·      Validate orders for freight allocation when applicable

·      Pull data to support analytics, reports on metrics to measure and manage KPIs

Requirements

Job Requirements

·      Post secondary education in transportation or logistics

·      Minimum 3-5 years of experience from similar work environment

·      Knowledge of U.S. imports, free trade agreements and industry resources

·      Experience with truck, rail, and/or ocean freight transportation

·      Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), ability to maintain good relationships with internal and external partners

·      Excellent organizational skills, detailed-oriented, ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines and priorities.
