As a team member and under the supervision and guidance of the Principal, Literacy Support Tutors will work with K-2 classrooms (Elementary) and Student Success Teams (Secondary) to deliver specific literacy supports as designed by the central Curriculum Department Team. They will provide gap closing support through direct contact with students in activities that reinforce skills and concepts in the area of Literacy. They will work collaboratively with board staff to implement goals set out in our ALCDSB Multi-Year Strategic Plan.
Qualifications:
· Must be a post-secondary student enrolled in a college or university;
· Excellent understanding and knowledge in the area of Literacy;
· Experience working with children will be considered an asset;
· Proven ability to work as a member of a team and independently;
· Ability to collect data and record it electronically;
· Strong computer skills;
· Excellent verbal and written skills;
· Excellent interpersonal skills;
· Applicants must be able to provide their own transportation, mileage is not included.
