We are building a team of LCMM Technicians to support a long term engineering project lead by ADGA.
Tasks include:
Generally, the LCMM Technician must support all LC4ISR life cycle material management (LCMM) functions, including Repair and Overhaul (R&O) services; spare parts; training; documentation; packaging, handling, storage and transportation; problem resolution; and other maintenance support.
A senior level resource must perform all, an intermediate level resource must perform at least 75%, and a junior level resource must perform at least 50% of the following tasks:
Conduct engineering studies and analysis to provide technical solutions to stated technical/logistic or operational requirements/problems including preparation of Engineering Changes (ECs)
Prepare and issue Material Change Notices (MCNs) whenever ECs affect end-items such as part numbers, drawing numbers, manufacturer’s code, quantities and applicability.
Define standards and criteria relevant to equipment or systems maintenance.
Prepare, modify or update specifications and drawings.
Prepare, modify or update maintenance handbooks, parts lists, operating manuals and technical instructions and orders.
Perform configuration management.
Monitor and report on material under management including cataloguing activities, spares, replacement parts, obsolescence issues, upgrade options, and divestment activities.
Perform analysis of maintenance, repair and overhaul data.
Investigate Unsatisfactory Condition Reports (UCRs) and Technical Failure Reports (TFRs)
Prepare technical statements of requirement, draft specifications and purchase descriptions.
Prepare data for initial provisioning and repair parts scaling.
Review the design, development, manufacture, installation and testing of prototype modifications.
Prepare support cost option analysis for systems and equipment.
Review disposal certificates, making appropriate recommendations.
Track and analyze updates to supported items and provide advice of impact to current equipment and systems.
Perform any other work related to this category.
Qualifications
Educational requirements:
Proof of Bachelor of Science or a suitable technical field required or proof of College Diploma in Electronics, Computer Technology 'OR'
A relevant technical field required to support Land Command Support Systems or a demonstrated Qualification Level 6B (QL6B - in military) in a relevant technical field required to support LCSS and demonstrated minimum substantive rank of Warrant Officer in the Canadian Forces.
Domain Experience: (at least 4 years of demonstrated experience within the last 7 years in at least 6 of the following)
Experience using a recognized Process framework or using a LCMM Handbook.
Experience working on Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) software (i.e. SAP) for equipment cataloguing.
Experience working on ERP for maintaining and developing checklists.
Experience working on ERP for coordinating equipment distribution.
Evaluating and providing solutions to deficiencies in Technical Failure Reports (TFR) and Unsatisfactory Condition Reports (UCR)
Analyzing Statements of Operational Requirements (SOR)
Reviewing Technical Data Packages (TDP)
Planning and executing equipment demilitarization and disposal.
Writing:
Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience within the last 5 years in the preparation of technical documents including requirements, specification, checklists, bulletins, reports, proposals, and equipment disposal plans.
Communications: (at least 4 years of demonstrated experience in each of the following)
Developing briefing notes and presentations to address technical and logistic issues pertaining to equipment.
Liaising with stakeholders to support the life cycle management of equipment.
Providing advice, guidance and make recommendations on technical issues to support the decision-making of senior management.
Defence System Project Experience:
Minimum of 60 months of demonstrated experience as a Life Cycle Material Management (LCMM) Technician on Military Command and Control systems.
Additional Information
Contract length potential - 5 years with the potential for a multi-year extension.
Must hold a valid 'Secret' clearance to start (will process for candidates that are being strongly considered) and will need the Controlled Goods Certificate at point of hire.
