The National Library of New Zealand has the mandate to make the National Library-s collections accessible to provide for the most valuable use of those collections and resources.

As a Library Assistant with Collection Delivery you will be assigned a range of activities working with the published collections of the National Library.

- Complete requests for books, serials, newspapers for the Reading Room and external patrons

- Shelve returns and carry out collection maintenance tasks

- Construct, add and modify bibliographic holdings

- Other tasks agreed with manager

This is a full-time position.

To be successful in this role you will have:

- NCEA Level 3 (or equivalent)

- Knowledge and experience of basic library routines and procedures

- Our preferred candidate will have library experience or be working towards a library qualification

- Experience using standard computer packages

- Effective written and oral communication skills

- Ability to work with minimum supervision

- Ability to fulfil the physical requirements of the position, which will include the lifting of heavy items and boxing collections for moves
