Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience drafting commercial contracts.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with litigation or regulatory work.
•  Experience working in fast-paced professional environments.
• Knowledge of contract, commercial, IP, IT, and data protection law.
• Ability to differentiate between legal and commercial issues and to understand when to escalate.
• Ability to prioritize and to manage numerous responsibilities concurrently.
• Effective communication skills with a commitment to professionalism and collegiality.

About the job

As a Legal Specialist, you are a driving force behind the success of your Legal team. You will create and improve processes, maintain records, conduct legal research, and coordinate communications across the team. As you closely support your team, you may find yourself working with multiple groups within the Legal Department, internal clients across Google, and external parties. In this role, you’ll draft a variety of simple commercial agreements primarily focusing on inbound service agreements and marketing agreements to support Google’s needs. You will also assist with the creation and maintenance of internal legal team knowledge resources and operational processes across legal teams in EMEA, working on commercial, litigation and regulatory work.

You’ll support a range of functional areas within Google, and prioritize/manage numerous tasks concurrently, while also paying careful attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Draft a range of simple inbound service agreements and marketing agreements, and maintain templates that comply with company policies and local law. Assist with litigation and regulatory processes.
• Develop expertise in a range of Google functional areas and processes, and build relationships with business customers in our various EMEA offices.
• Advise business customers and global/regional legal teams on various aspects of English law, legal issues and risks, agreement structures, and company policies.
