Vestas have a notable role available to join a dynamic team for an experienced Legal Counsel to work with our APAC sales and construction divisions.

Finance

Vestas Legal, Risk & Compliance

Legal & Compliance APAC

Working as part of a broader Asia Pacific legal team, you will support the Sales Business Unit on transactions for Wind Turbine sales and services throughout Australia and New Zealand. You will be exposed daily to our development, construction and service business units utilising your past skills and experience to provide accurate and knowledgable counsel to enable our teams continue being effective and efficient.

Responsibilities

  • Review tender proposals and draft contractual deviation schedules
  • Draft EPC, supply and install and supply only contracts
  • Draft long-term asset management contracts
  • Negotiate contracts with customer legal representatives
  • Ensure contractual positions are consistent with internal governance policies and negotiate deviations with internal stakeholders
  • Management of external service providers to ensure correct advice within expected cost and time constraints
  • Legal advice to project and service operations teams
  • Advise on disputes
  • Supporting the implementation of the regional Compliance programme
  • Offering counsel on a variety of commercial issues affecting the Sales Business Unit and Vestas' operations in Australia and New Zealand

Qualifications

  • Law degree from a recognized university
  • Admitted to a recognized bar
  • 8+ years' experience in Construction Law at large law firm or in-house with a major corporate

Competencies

  • Professional interpersonal and presentation skills, along with the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the Vestas organization
  • Solid negotiating skills with both legal and financial/commercial issues and the ability to work across cultures and geographies
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
  • Ability to work with little or no supervision
