Job Description

For more than 80 years, Massey University has helped shape the lives and communities of people in New Zealand and around the world. Its forward-thinking spirit, research-led teaching, and cutting-edge discoveries make Massey New Zealand's defining University.

Our Institute of Education/Te Kura o Te Mātauranga programmes cover the spectrum of graduate and postgraduate programmes including five professional education programmes. This position can be based from our Albany campus on Auckland's North Shore, or our Manawatū campus in Palmerston North.

We are now seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer to support the design, development, and delivery of our Human Development programmes.

For appointment at Lecturer level, you will possess a relevant doctoral qualification or be enrolled in a doctoral qualification. For appointment at Senior Lecturer level, you will have a doctoral qualification and have a proven research publication record.

Massey University is committed to being a Tiriti-led organisation. It is therefore expected that you will have, an appreciation of the Aotearoa New Zealand context and a demonstrable understanding of the needs and aspirations of Māori. Te Kura o Te Mātauranga is actively committed to develop a diverse staffing profile that matches New Zealand society as a whole.

If you would like a new challenge and to be part of a fun and dynamic teaching team within our Institute, we would welcome your application.

Enquiries of an academic nature can be directed to Associate Professor Alison Kearney, Head of Te Kura o Te Mātauranga, Institute of Education, Massey University, telephone +64 6 356-9099 a.c.kearney@massey.ac.nz

Massey University is committed to protecting the health, safety and well-being of our staff and students. All students, staff and visitors need to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, or medically exempt, in order to come onto our campuses or to take part in face-to-face University-managed activities from the 14th of February 2022. Therefore, any positions that fit this criteria will require the successful applicant to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 or have a New Zealand Ministry of Health issued medical exemption. Should you apply and be successful for any of our roles, evidence of your vaccination status will be requested if face-to-face University-managed activities or coming onto a Massey campus is a part of your employment.
