Description

Role title: Lead Test Manager
Location: UK

Role purpose: 
To manage and oversee the testing services across the Connectivity & Security product portfolio. The Lead Test Manager will drive and manage the test team, define the test strategy and derive estimates to within specified tolerances for Connectivity & Security programme EPICs and manage resource demands within the team. They will lead test campaigns through internal and external test organisations, and drive testing activities proactively, managing risk and assure the quality of the delivery with the aim of exceeding stakeholder expectations and delivering compelling customer experience. Drive and implement test automation delivery for each connectivity product set. Ensure best practices are adhered to across the test team.

This role will focus on the following:  
•    Work closely with Technical Product Owner/Product Architect team to understand business requirements and define test strategy.
•    Drive and Manage End to End Test activities for Vodafone Connectivity-IPVPN/Cloud Connect/SDWAN Products.
•    Responsible for defining the test schedules and plan for the different test cycles 
•    Define and Input into the test approach and test plans for each EPIC
•    Work with Lab Environment Team to build each SDWAN scenario in lab.
•    Support the test team in defect management with Vendors/Third party.
•    Completing Impact Assessments for any Change Requests from within the business.
•    Liaise with Vodafone Operating Companies to support their testing
•    Manage test Risk/Issues and dependencies with programme team.
•    Test Resource and Test budget input for Projects.

Job Responsibility

Core competencies, knowledge and experience: 
-    Experience in a Telecommunications, IT or related service industry;
-    Enterprise IP VPN, fixed connectivity, IP Interconnect and Trunking, and Ethernet services;
-    Technical knowledge of IP & MPLS networking, LAN/WAN solution, data networking, switching and routing technologies, cloud, hosting;
-    Testing tools including tools for Test Automation

Must have technical/professional qualifications: 
-    University degree or equivalent in computer science, electrical/electronic / telecommunications engineering.
-    Hold the ISTQB Test Practitioner certificate or equivalent test certification or demonstrate experience and achievements to this standard is desirable
-    ITIL Foundation v3 (or equivalent) is desirable
-    Minimum of 3 years experience working on large complex projects in the IT/Telecommunications (Fixed or Mobile) industry and least 5 years hands-on experience of end-to-end testing  in a multi-application/multi-network/platform/vendor environment
-    IT/Telecommunications technology architecture design, and product design;
-    Strong QA and test industry knowledge of standards and methodologies.
