We’re seeking a highly-experienced professional to drive the technology strategy in this area, ensuring a credible investment roadmap to realise our transformation outcomes whilst providing technology inspiration and thought leadership to our business stakeholders. You’ll bring an innovative and architectural mindset, FinTech market expertise, and provide leadership of how our Customers experience the digital touchpoints specific to Financial Services from within the Partnership’s Technology & Change function.Â

What will you be doing?
Work directly with the Director of Financial Services and Head Of Change Delivery to help ensure JLP delivers on its strategic aims and enables the Partnership to adapt and grow in a competitive and changing market, across technologies/and or market disciplines that are constantly changing
Define and establish technology-enabled business capabilities that are effective, efficient and sustainable making a tangible difference to the business, making strategic choices about the specific technologies our Products / Platforms will use
Provide thought leadership that shapes the upstream JLP Technology Strategy and the downstream Product/Platform roadmaps & backlogs
Evaluate technology investments on large, often disruptive, products and programmes to validate that the expected benefits outweigh the expected costs and are clearly aligned to business and technology strategies
Evaluate mitigating technology strategies to address where the level of risk (e.g legislative/commercial compliance) represented by the Product / Platform technology estate is outside of the Partnership’s risk tolerance
Lead and influence diverse teams to maximise enterprise/product design value and efficiency whilst maintaining appropriate levels of technology and information risk

What you\'ll have
1. Impactful Financial Services Architect
Extensive experience and deep understanding of multi-channel Enterprise Architecture across financial services capabilities and customer insight. Extensive experience generating and pitching proposals to Senior IT and Business leadership and engendering change.Â
2. Critical Influence
Proven ability to empower and influence others to make technology choices, resolve challenges and deliver outcomes that are in line with the strategy. Work across the wider business to set technology strategy and outcomes that deliver change at scale.Â
3. Strategy Development & Strategic Planning
Experience working with teams across the business to create, inform and provide input to business strategy creation, development, and implementation. Experience developing the Technology Strategy as a critical component of the business strategy, ensuring business and technology outcomes are mutually supportive.Â
4. Commercial & Contract Acumen
You’ll advise and consult on the commercial and contractual implications of existing or new obligations. You’ll consult on contractual terms of technologies and business services being procured or used within your domain and the impact of change both commercially and contractually.Â

Understand how the business capabilities that support John Lewis Financial Services or a Product and Platform operate with reference to marketplace good practice. Understand the capabilities and processes that support the business and how this differs from our competition and the likely areas of competitive advantage or improvement.
2. Sequence Change to Deliver Incremental Business Value
You’ll have established credible roadmaps to drive change in business or technical capabilities that maximise business benefit and cost of ownership. 3.Monitor and advise on current technology, retail and socio-economic trends
You can evidence how you stay up to date with trends and shifts in technology, financial services, retail and the wider world, and set this understanding against the business or technology context within which you are working.Â
You’ll consult internally on trends and shifts in technology, influencing technology and business choices to support JLP strategic aims.

Additional Information
The pay range for this role is from £67,000 - £128,000
