Lathe Set Up Operator/ Machinist (5-axis & 3-axis)

Lathe Set Up Operator /Machinist who can setup/program Bridge type High Speed 5-axis & 3-axis Machining Centers with Fanuc Controls.

Job Duties:

• program and set up machines such as mills, lathes, and mill turns

• Fill out records, work orders or production related records, as required.

• Ability to interpret blueprints, drawing, specifications and determine dimensions and tolerances.

• Follow the department’s specific established policies and procedures at all times.

• Follow quality management system policies and procedures as per AS 9100 International Standard

• Calculate and set controls to regulate various machine factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut.

• Observe machine operation to detect any malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust the machine controls or control media as necessary.

• Verify conformance of finished part to ensure that it meets specifications.

• Perform daily maintenance duties and/or notify supervisor of any equipment-related issues that may require attention.

• Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and products specifications.

Requirements:

• High school or equivalent

• 2+ years if relevant experience. (mills, lathes)

• Organizational and communication skills.

• Experience using measuring tools and equipment

• Experience in Mastercam or SolidCAM.

• Knowledge of a wide variety of sheet metal repair techniques, fasteners, and rivets.
