Opportunity

MacEwan University invites applicants for a full-time continuing Laboratory Assistant opportunity with our Faculty of Nursing, Department of Professional Nursing and Allied Health. You will support lab learning and teaching by organizing lab supplies, equipment, and asset tracking. You will be responsible for preparing learning environments, assisting with the takedown and cleaning of lab equipment, and organization of required lab supplies to maintain a safe work environment. You will receive and monitor lab supplies and provide ongoing support for efficient lab operations.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Organizing, gathering, and distributing equipment and supplies to support instructional activities
• Monitoring inventory and supply needs (including instructor kits); initiating ordering requests, and facilitating scheduled maintenance of equipment - e.g., tables, lifts, wheelchairs, human patient simulators
• Tracking assets and documents as required

SKILLS

The successful incumbent will demonstrate:

• Being highly organized, analytical, and effective in assessment and planning
• Ability to communicate proficiently
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Proficiency in preparation of materials and equipment
• Experience with Excel, Word, and Google Docs/Drive
• Experience with inventory control

QUALIFICATIONS

• A minimum of a high school diploma is required. A high school diploma with an additional certificate or higher in a medical-related field is preferred.
• A minimum of one year of healthcare experience
• Experience with or knowledge of medical supplies and equipment.
